It is not uncommon to hear critiques about Facebook and how it is a waste of time. Some argue it's a forum for self-indulgent statuses, and with that, carries the capability for mass amounts of lonely souls hiding behind shiny computer screens to lurk at hundreds of photos in the span of just 5 minutes! Nonetheless, I constantly find inspiration on that damned "social networking" site. Just today, I came across a lot of inspiration. An old high-school classmate posted a song by India Arie. This artist alone is talented and has lyrics that speak to a wide range of audiences. This particular song, however, moved me. It is India Arie's, "Private Party." It is not only melodic, it's lyrics hit home, especially for me. All women can appreciate a song that captures insecurity, self-hatred, and pity--and CHUCKS it away! Living in an image-obsessed, rat-race-type-world, I really love the calm Arie created with this song! Arie sings "I'm having a private party, learning how to love me, celebrating the woman I've become." How great is that?! Appreciating oneself just as is- no complaints, only positive thoughts. Arie discusses "disconnection" and how we need to realize the body is "beautiful" and "sacred". In honor of Miss Arie, I'm having a Private Party, too- and I'm going to sun bathe and feel more beautiful than I ever have. I am definitely more proud than ever to be the woman that I have become! <3 <3

About Me
- MANDIscript
- I am one-of-a-kind. You will definitely never meet any one like me. I have opinions and I not only share them, I shout them. I live each day to its fullest (or the best that I can). I believe a day is truly wasted if you haven't genuinely laughed. I am a daughter, a girlfriend, a friend, a student, and an actress at heart. I have a lot of great ideas and too little energy to pursue most of them- but I'm getting better at it. I say "bless you" when people sneeze, and I say my "please" and "thank you"s. I would describe my current lifestyle as transitional- I'm not quite in my career but I am so so close. Life is good. Blessings galore!
